Daily Dose of Dylin

Dyl - "when will the world end?"
Me - "when Christ comes again."
Dyl - "I wanted Jesus to come instead!"

(looks like I know what we need to have a little lesson about) ;o)

Sponge Bob and the Second Coming...

Dyl - Mom, what will it be like when we go to heaven? I want a body. Not be a ghost.
Me - Dyl, we aren't going to be like Casper, you'll look like yourself.
Dyl - Well on Sponge Bob, there was a dead pirate and he came back to life and re-grew his beard and he went places but he was still a spirit.
Me - how did he die?
Dyl - ummm maybe like a heart attack or something?!
Me - Dyl, what does that have to do with the second coming?
Dyl - well I wanna make sure we aren't going to be like creepy ghosts that can go dig for treasures under the sea and grow beards!

She seriously is the reason I live!!!! :o)

Announcing Dylin's Be Kind Shirts!!!

We are excited to announce Dylin's very own Be Kind Shirts.
If you aren't familiar with the Be Kind shirts and what they're all about, I strongly urge you to check out http://www.joshstevensfoundation.com/

One month before Josh’s 13th birthday, he lost his life in tragic accident. His time on Earth was much too short, but his kind heart and spirit will live forever. Josh was known for his unique brand of kindness. His legacy continues to inspire. The Josh Stevens Foundation was created to honor his life and the example he set for us all to follow.

The Josh Stevens Foundation and Dylin's Foundation have joined together to bring awareness to the Be Kind campaign and Polycystic Kidney Disease. Profits from shirt sales will be shared between the two foundations.

When thinking of a slogan for Dylin's shirts, I explained to her what we were doing and asked her what she wanted it to say. (on the front of the shirts they all say Be Kind, and the back's have different sayings on them).Without a moments hesitation Dylin said, "What about, Rock On! Because I Rock On after all my blood tests and other testing." I had chills through my body, and knew this was perfect!!!
She also told me down to the detail of what she wanted her logo to look like. With Dylin's requests, this is what I sketched. The entire project was exciting for the both of us and we are happy to share this with you!

This logo and Josh's logo are both on the back of the shirts as well!

Daily DoseS of Dylin....

Oh mighty child of mine.... I have been trying to keep track of her "mouth" lately. Hopefully I can describe just how funny and creative she is!

Dyl - "I'm thinking about how I want to make a difference in the world."
Me - "Oh really and how do u plan on that?"
Dyl - "I dont know."
Me - "Well how about you be a good example to others by acting nice."
Dyl - "Well that's not going to work, I'm on Christmas break from school."
Me - "Dyl you can be nice at home, friends houses, other places, not just at school!"
Dyl - "Naaaa, I'll have to choose something else."

Dyl - "How many minutes do I stay in time out?
Me - "6 minutes cuz your 6!"
Dyl - "Well than wouldn't that be 6 1/2 minutes since I'm 6 1/2, duh?!"

Dyl - "Mom I need cinnamon."
Me - "Ok I'll come get it in a minute."
Dyl - "I can't wait, I'll get it myself!"
Me - "No you won't cuz robins cookies are on the counter."
Dyl - "Mom, helllooooo be a problem solver!!! I'll just move the cookies and climb up there!"

(Duh Mom!)

Dylin just came in and said, "I am not tired!!! I have lots of faults!" (wrong
description but...)
She said, "first Uh-ball (of all) I am hungry, thirsty, need a piece of white
chocolate, wanna get on computer, need to watch tv, or play with uncle Bob."
"Soooo mom what's your choice, huh! Huh!"
I said, "none, go climb your butt in bed."
She said, "you lost that wasn't any of the ideas, guess I get to pick!"

Another crazy night in our home... during winter break... for no reason!!

We made cookie trains. Although there aren't any pictures, upclose... because this became a free for all and pretty much I had kids frosting candy and cookies into the shapes of body parts & just a caboose, etc. So after one hour of kids loaded up on a sugar high... we turned to killing time by playing Minute to Win it Games. This was FUNNNNN!!!!

You had to get the cookie from your forehead to your mouth without using your hands. FOUR kids actually did this, it's hard! Try it.

FYI - You will look absolutely ridiculous!

Toss the marshmallows in the bowls, up the stairs, you have three misses, highest bowl... wins!

 Anthony was our winner!

5 nerf gun shots to shoot down as many dominos as you can.
We had teams. It wasn't as easy as you think! In fact, Ben the 4 year old was the first to finally get one down after five 11 year olds tried. Go Ben!

This is Ben...
If you can see, this is what the cookie trains were supposed to look like. My nieces have been trained well over the years.

The COOLEST teacher gift idea

A friend and I sent home a letter to parents asking for them to secretively send in a gift card (any denomination) with their child, give it to my child...
and we created a gift card tree (holder) with gift cards to all of his favorite places to shop & eat!
We did this for all our kids classes, this is just the only pic I have. The others were an actual mini tree.
So practical and much appreciated!!

Christmas 2010

Join us Christmas eve for some holiday cheer....
dinner, traditions & family will be there!
stop in or stay the night...
santa will be be the morning delight!
join us also on christmas day....
we will be going to see Little Fockers & laugh til we are gay! ;oD

Christmas Eve...
gift exchanges, white elephant with adults & then a childrens ornament white elephant exchange.
Most of the cousins together...
I made this for Tyler.
Macy
Macy was upset we forgot to do Nana's chimes. This is a yearly tradition...
You'd think following simple numbers on a poster board and hitting your chime with a knife would be simple!
Well with our lame non musical family, we can NEVER get Jingle Bells to sound right.
(Maybe because the boys in our family (still) think their chime is for 5 different numbers. )
Playing Rock Band with my littlest rocker
Nana reading us a Christmas book to settle us down for Santa to come

Christmas morning, waiting for the okay to run down the stairs....
But Papa says you must walk backwards, while spanking your rears...
 Tyler with his new bat
 Little Miss Macy
Dylin had the funniest Christmas wishes....a garbage can being one of them!
 Sweet "J"

 Dylin made me these cards...
