Cooperstown Baby!!!

Tyler & his team, the Vegas Heat are here in Cooperstown!

104 teams.

21 fields.

and 12 boys, 4 coaches in one small stinky barrack.

THIS IS GOING TO BE A FABULOUS WEEK!!

Drive on the way to Cooperstown from Albany.

The boys are given uniforms. Navy & Red. They must wear their pants as knickers, their shirts tucked in, and hat facing forward at all times. If they don't, they will have a 2 game suspension. I love it! The only thing I don't like is they are given random numbers. I love my # 6 :/

We got a little secret tip to go to the Bat Company immediately as they will only give out one of their pins to one team member. Of course I got the first, actually I talked them into two!

They usually only collect club ball pins, but they loved the spinner little league pin. :)

My kids and I don't suffer from colds, flus, etc. We get diseases.

No joke. Go ahead... giggle. We do!

Strangely, Dylin and I have a genetic disease called Polycystic Kidney Disease and yet no one in our family/relatives has this. AND NOW... Tyler has it too.

Long story, but the quick version...

He and Jordyn get checked by ultrasound yearly to make sure their kidneys are good.

11 months after Tyler's last check, he is on the floor screaming in pain.

A night in the ER discovers his left kidney has cysts, is inflamed and hemorrhaging.

He's doing a lot better on top of his already horrendous asthma and thyroid that never wanted to function, but hey he's still playing club baseball, we are award winning toilet paperers, and have so much fun over here... I truly think I need to start having parents sign consent forms before their child enters my home!

Tyler is known for his wise mind, WAY beyond his years. To the point, I have to give him the cut throat sign on multiple occasions because he doesn't exactly remember that not every parent wants their children to know how to illegally "jailbreak" your cell phones. 

I swear this kid will either work for the Government cracking codes or be in jail by the time he is 18.

He has definitely maintained his wittiness and sense of humor through this tough health battle.

The other morning I was trying to get the kids ready for school and bake these delicious Granola Protein Balls aka Energy Balls, and so I asked Tyler to help bake.

Without a hesitation... he said, "Mom, boys are not meant to bake, girls are.... your bodies are even made with milk and eggs!!!"

Say what? 

Although, I will say he does have a good point there!

After an 8 month break from club ball, Tyler's back to running our schedule!

Little League & Fall ball weren't enough... we need it 3-4 days a week.

His new team is The Heat.

Mr. President & Mrs. Vice President

I know, I know. I'm a week late posting this. Between PTA President, Mr. Pres., Mrs. Vice Pres, a 6 year old that makes you think you have six 6 year olds, watching Macy, baseball, both lil chicks in soccer..... the thought of blogging is quite annoying. ;o)

OH and I hate blogging without a picture and I haven't been able to capture one of Ty & Jordyn together since they BOTH WON!!!

I'm very proud of them!

President & Vice President speeches for student council

These were the kids speeches. They did an amazing job in front of the entire school.
Jordyn's theme being with sweets, she had her friend Spencer hold up candy that had to do with her speech. It was so cute!

Tyler, well he was a little more difficult. I had 5 suggestions & his Papa Mike even wrote one up for him. He is in that embarissing stage, so to find something funny and make it memorable was a little hard. BUT he did finally agree to this one. (and he even used quite a bit of enthusiasm in his speech)

T is for a TRUSTWORTHY TITAN. I have been a student here at _________ since I was in Kindergarten. I have served most of you as student council rep for 3 years and I was the Vice President last year. I AM ready to be your President!

Y is for YO YO YO - I am YOUR candidate to serve YOU! I will listen to your ideas and together we will help keep our school number one!

L is for LEADERSHIP - I am a positive leader that is easy to work with and cares about my school, my family and my friends! You can count on me!

E is for EXAMPLE - I will lead this school by being a good EXAMPLE to all. I stand for truth and right, while having a little bit of fun.

R is for RESPONSIBLE - I am a responsible 10 year old that will take my role as President seriously. I will attend all of my meetings, maintain A honor roll, work with my advisors and fellow students to build a strong student council.

My other thought for Tyler were "Making the world a better place since 1999!" Clever huh? That came to me about 12:30am last night. Why does everything good come to me at the last second??? Wish them luck!!!

My little candidates

Tyler & Jordyn were both nominated by their classes to run for President & Vice President. We have to come up with a slogan, poster & speech this weekend. Here are a few I have thought of. Tyler is SO over me. hahahaha.

Tyler - "I'll put the STUD back in STUDent Council"
            A large picture of him with this finger up his nose and put, "PICK ME! PICK ME!"

Jordyn - "Go with the Flow, vote for Jo-Jo"
             "Sugar & Spice and all that is nice, vote Jordyn for VICE"

If they do a combo campaign, they could say.... "Don't go Nuts, vote for US"

I'll post the final outcome! Wish them luck!!!

Health Update

Dylin's still the rock star! We don't know how, we aren't going to question and just believe that God indeed has great things planned for this little rascal. Her blood pressure? Great! Her kidney function? Great! Her attitude? Still the same, a fighter! Gotta just love her!

As for Tyler, he has blood work tomorrow morning.

We've got to get this thyroid medication exactly where it needs to be. Poor exhausted kid!

At least I have drama mama Jordyn healthy and quite silly in this picture!

My 5th grader likes me a little!!!

It only lasted about 6 seconds, but Tyler held my hand out in public!! Woot Woot.

Clever Tyler!

I'm so impressed that my son wanted to take a shower that bad that when the curtain rod fell, he rigged up his own. There was a flood left on the ground, but hey, you're pretty darn clever!
