President & Vice President speeches for student council

These were the kids speeches. They did an amazing job in front of the entire school.
Jordyn's theme being with sweets, she had her friend Spencer hold up candy that had to do with her speech. It was so cute!

Hi, I'm Jordyn & I'm on a sugar rush to get your vote for Vice President!

I'm sweet, kind and never complaining like SUGAR BABY!!
I am MOUNDS of fun, full of laughter (laffy taffy) and even a little nutty (nutts)
I'll be on time to meetings and help where ever I am needed, especially in a CRUNCH!!
I am like a bag of SKITTLES... full of color with creative ideas!!
I will spend EXTRA (extra gum) time getting to know all of you and your thoughts for a better school!
I am excited to work closely with my PEEPS, Mrs. Coloma (Baby Ruth) and Mr. Hinchliffe (Mr. Goodbar).
I know as your Vice President, there will be many GOOD & PLENTY memories this 2010-2011 year!!
Be a SMARTIE, don't be an AIRHEAD and forget my name.
Remember Sugar and Spice and all that is Nice,
VOTE Jordyn for VICE

Tyler, well he was a little more difficult. I had 5 suggestions & his Papa Mike even wrote one up for him. He is in that embarissing stage, so to find something funny and make it memorable was a little hard. BUT he did finally agree to this one. (and he even used quite a bit of enthusiasm in his speech)

Ever heard of the slogan, GOT MILK? Well, You've GOT TYLER!

T is for a TRUSTWORTHY TITAN. I have been a student here at _________ since I was in Kindergarten. I have served most of you as student council rep for 3 years and I was the Vice President last year. I AM ready to be your President!

Y is for YO YO YO - I am YOUR candidate to serve YOU! I will listen to your ideas and together we will help keep our school number one!

L is for LEADERSHIP - I am a positive leader that is easy to work with and cares about my school, my family and my friends! You can count on me!

E is for EXAMPLE - I will lead this school by being a good EXAMPLE to all. I stand for truth and right, while having a little bit of fun.

R is for RESPONSIBLE - I am a responsible 10 year old that will take my role as President seriously. I will attend all of my meetings, maintain A honor roll, work with my advisors and fellow students to build a strong student council.

Remember Vote TYLER for President!

Thank you and see you in the White House!

Good Luck my little candidates!

A Good Luck breakfast for Tyler & Jordyn's speeches!

Dyl just got lucky!

My little Nominees for VP & President

My other thought for Tyler were "Making the world a better place since 1999!" Clever huh? That came to me about 12:30am last night. Why does everything good come to me at the last second??? Wish them luck!!!

Cure our Dylin

If you have checked out Dylin's site, you've noticed it hasn't been updated for quite sometime. For some reason the password doesn't work and the system has been locked to get in and update it. Don't know what to do!!!
But I'm not letting it keep us from moving forward with her foundation. We are spreading the word about PKD in many ways and hopefully these ways will lead everyone to a site that is working!!! In our 7 years in dealing with Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD), we have learned that hardly anyone is familiar with this incurable disease.
I have been playing around with drawing up a logo for Dylin's site & to print on shirts.

We are also partnering with the Josh Steven's Foundation. Please go to their site and read about Josh's story. http://www.joshstevensfoundation.org/ (Joshi's Park, is the park we played at for J Day during the ABC Adventures). Josh's family has come up with a way to honor kids that "are caught" performing kind acts. They also sell BE KIND shirts with messages on the back that read .... it's contagious or .... Hit's a hit! Now there are over 50 schools that have BE KIND shirts sold in their schools and each school has their own slogan that follows the BE KIND.... (on the front) with their own message on the back. Our school recently came on board and my message was chosen for the back. It says, BE KIND.... It always returns!

Dylin will soon have her own BE KIND shirts. We have a slogan picked and ready to go, but it's a secret!!
We will announce & introduce the shirts on the blog. They sell for $10 and the profits will split between Josh's & Dylin's Foundations.
So keep checking back!!!! ;o)

My little candidates

Tyler & Jordyn were both nominated by their classes to run for President & Vice President. We have to come up with a slogan, poster & speech this weekend. Here are a few I have thought of. Tyler is SO over me. hahahaha.

Tyler - "I'll put the STUD back in STUDent Council"
A large picture of him with this finger up his nose and put, "PICK ME! PICK ME!"

Jordyn - "Go with the Flow, vote for Jo-Jo"
"Sugar & Spice and all that is nice, vote Jordyn for VICE"

If they do a combo campaign, they could say.... "Don't go Nuts, vote for US"

I'll post the final outcome! Wish them luck!!!

Daily Dose of Dylin

Dylin - "I wanna sleep with Jordyn but she won't let me sleep next to the wall."
Jordyn - "It's my bed!"
Dylin - "But I have to sleep next to the wall!"
Jordyn - "Why?"
Dylin - "Because on Sunday nights I always fall off the bed, and it's Sunday Jordyn!"

Somehow they decided on this sleeping arrangement. Sounds easy, but nothings easy with Dylin!!

In Remembrance of September 11th

Red, White & Blue day at school.

Health Update

Dylin's still the rock star! We don't know how, we aren't going to question and just believe that God indeed has great things planned for this little rascal. Her blood pressure? Great! Her kidney function? Great! Her attitude? Still the same, a fighter! Gotta just love her!
As for Tyler, he has blood work tomorrow morning.
We've got to get this thyroid medication exactly where it needs to be. Poor exhausted kid!
At least I have drama mama Jordyn healthy and quite silly in this picture!

Blogging about my blog

How long has "stats" been on our blogs? I just noticed this. A cool little gadget that shows you where your online traffic is coming from. So it'll say whether my friend clicked on to view mine from her blog, or whether someone typed in a general word like crap and different sites came up. (I'm sure mine came up many times, I kinda like that word).  The other fascinating thing this shows is the traffic from where someone lives that's viewing my blog. It shows one from Israel, and another from Latvia, and since I don't have a clue where that is....it frankly scares the &%$! outa me!! It sorta freaks me out that strangers look at my blog. But I think making mine private would take away the fun, random side of me that just doesn't care. It's funny to have someone come up to you and tell me they nearly peed themselves reading about Tyler's pin worm story. In fact, on the tracker, it says that Pin Worms is the most common search that led several people to my blog. If you haven't read that story, you're missing out. I could save your child from having pin worms. (view by clicking on Tyler's label and scroll down, it was one of my first posts).
So if you have a blog and are just finding this out... have fun playing around on yours. Pretty darn fascinating.

My 5th grader likes me a little!!!

It only lasted about 6 seconds, but Tyler held my hand out in public!! Woot Woot.
(just long enough to catch a quick pic!!)

Who does that? #1

And what would be the reason to pad little girls bra's?
Seriously! Joe Boxer must not have a daughter!

Camp Rock 2 Party

Walking the red carpet

loading up at the (free) concession stand
watchin' the movie
At commercial breaks, we loaded on the bright lipstick, blind folded them and had a kissing Nick Jonas contest. Winner won a gift card to Golden Spoon! There was a 3 way tie and what do ya know... my girls were part of that tie. Should I be scared?? So we're all going to Golden Spoon ;o)
